  2. It’s an error. Studies have shown that over 50% of all credit reports have negative information that is not accurate. Dispute the inquiry and demand it be deleted immediatley. Check all your reports for this if you haven’t already.

  3. Did your ex ever actually refinance? Or just remove your name from the deed?

    If your lawyer did not require a new mortgage before he let you sign a quit claim deed, he screwed up and you are still liable for the mortgage.

    You need to pull out your divorce papers and see what they state. Then call the mortgage company and find out if the loan is still in both of your names.
