numberone asked:
in 2001 my dad and i bought a car. i use the car and i pay the bill every month for it. However my name isnt listed has owner. i have bad credit however my car payment is always on time. i owe about 5000 dollars left. What can i do to change the name from my dad to mine? could i still get a co-sign. Is there any bank that would load me just 5000 dollars? i do have a stable job.

$5000 on a 6 year old car is do-able. You will need a co-signer and even then you amy or may not get the loan. It depends on how bad you credit is.

The fact that you have made the payments doesn’t help a bit since the vehicle isn’t in your name. You’re building up your father’s credit. You can ask the bank, and see what they say. If they turn you down perhaps they would share your credit file with you and you could get some idea of what you need to do to establish better credit.
